PAGE 5-63: BRIDGE EXPERIMENT ARMING
This checklist is to be used during initiation of a bridge experiment when the order is given to arm the FTS. Before initiating this checklist, you should establish communications with your partner vault to perform COOP actions.
- On the LA/HA VDU, select the ENABLE MESSAGE and press ENTER to select it.
- On the WS VDU, select the ENABLE/DISABLE menu from the MAIN MENU.
- From the ENABLE/DISABLE MENU, select INIT ENABLE.
- Press the Initiate key.
- Wait for the COOP ENABLE message. A countdown will appear. Type the unique prompted sequence on the OID. The second vault must enter its prompted sequence within three seconds.
- Observe the SUCCESSFUL COOP ENABLE message on the WS VDU.
- From the menu, select LD REMOTE CODE.
- Press the Initiate key.
- The REMOTE CODE READY message is displayed.
- At the ENABLE/DISABLE panel, turn the ENABLE SWITCH anticlockwise to the REMOTE LOAD position until it clicks into place.
- From the ENABLE/DISABLE MENU, select ALL CALL ENABLE.
- Press the Initiate key.
- Confirm that all warhead groups have successfully transitioned to the ENABLED state on the WS VDU. Observe the red ARMED light on the WARHEAD PANEL.
- Release the ENABLE SWITCH and ensure it springs back to the initial SET position.
- Confirm the REMOTE CODE USED message appears on the WS VDU.
- Confirm the ATT MSG TR message appears on the LA/HA VDU.
- Monitor your station in the armed state until the disarm order is given.
WARNING: Before you commit to disarm, all of the following procedures must be followed and cross-checked with your partner.
- You must observe the state of the control deck and ensure no personnel appear under duress, especially the OIC and OICO. You should observe both agreeing to perform the shutdown sequence and insert their PALIS keys.
- You must observe the state of the bridge room itself to ensure nothing untoward is occurring with the bridge generator itself, and visually confirm it is shutdown, as well as observing using the multi-spectrum view to ensure radiation and energy output is minimal. The shutdown state must be cross-checked against all redundant sensor feeds and all states must match.
- The PALIS SEQUENCER must be in TERMINAL STATE. The message must show a valid signature.
- You must confirm the targeting computer is in the UNDER RESET state and the TCS CITADEL reads PARAMETERS ZEROIZED.
- There must be no active perimeter alarms or tamper alarms in any facility infrastructure.
- There must be no unread Flash Alerts from Raven on the CCS.

- On the LA/HA VDU, select the DISABLE MESSAGE and press ENTER to select it.
- On the WS VDU, select the ENABLE/DISABLE menu from the MAIN MENU.
- From the ENABLE/DISABLE MENU, select INIT DISABLE.
- Press the Initiate key.
- Wait for the COOP DISABLE message. A countdown will appear. Type the unique prompted sequence on the OID. The second vault must enter its prompted sequence within three seconds.
- Observe the SUCCESSFUL COOP DISABLE message on the WS VDU.
- From the menu, select LD REMOTE CODE.
- Press the Initiate key.
- The REMOTE CODE READY message is displayed.
- At the ENABLE/DISABLE panel, turn the DISABLE SWITCH anticlockwise to the REMOTE LOAD position until it clicks into place.
- From the ENABLE/DISABLE MENU, select ALL CALL DISABLE.
- Press the Initiate key.
- Confirm that all warhead groups have successfully transitioned to the DISABLE state on the WS VDU. Observe the red ARMED light turns off on the WARHEAD PANEL.
- Release the DISABLE SWITCH and ensure it springs back to the initial SET position.
- Confirm the REMOTE CODE USED message appears on the WS VDU.
- Confirm the ATT MSG TR message appears on the LA/HA VDU.
