Sigma Unit Access Request SOP

This document details the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for requesting access to the Sigma Unit (S-Unit).

PREAMBLE
Access to the S-Unit is granted on a temporary basis. For certain, high-ranking individuals who have received special pre-agreed authorisation from Adjudication, at-will access may be granted. This procedure must be used in all other cases.

REQUIREMENTS
The following requirements are mandatory for all access requests. No exceptions will be made.

  • All personnel must hold a Sigma clearance.
  • All personnel must have undergone CRS-3 classified training sessions on interacting with automated defence systems at the Sigma level. Examination records will be verified.
  • All personnel must not currently be undergoing any Formal Psychological Investigations (FPIs), and must not have returned from annual leave during the previous week.

PROCEDURE
Access requests must be made through the INTSEC Gamma Service Desk, and must include the following:

  • The identity of all personnel requiring access
  • A detailed justification as to the Need for Presence, with suitable supporting evidence if necessary
  • The specific destination(s) within the S-Unit
  • The exact start and end time for the access window
  • The urgency of the request

RESPONSE
Once submitted to Internal Security, the access request will be processed according to the urgency level selected. Further information may be requested if necessary through appropriate secure channels. Once a decision has been made, the requestor will be notified of the outcome. No information will be given in the event of a denial.

Even if the request is approved, access is not guaranteed. Personnel may still be rejected by the automated security system at the S-Unit perimeter. If this occurs, an investigation will be initiated, and if not the result of an error, the individual(s) will be barred from requesting access for one (1) week.

Personnel are reminded that no objects of any kind are permitted to be brought into the S-Unit unscheduled. Introduction of new assets to the Unit requires command-level approval and the engagement of IntSec in a full threat assessment before security barriers may be reconfigured for the transfer.
