Red Mountain

Red Mountain is the headquarters of the Strategic Intelligence Office (SIO), and is located in Canberra, the capital city of Australia. It is a massive boxy megabuilding, built to appear as if it was constructed out of sandstone, which is ridged and textured along its faces. What appear to be opaque reflective glass windows are actually not windows, but active sensor grids that allow employees to view outside without compromising the armour.

Unlike Black Mountain, Red Mountain's actual operational elements are actually located inside the visible bulk of the structure, not underground; though, it is protected by the same security countermeasures as Black Mountain, including forcefields and manifold anchors. The building is located close to the headquarters of the Australian Secret Intelligence Service (ASIS), which reinforces the SIO's close working relationship with the Australian intelligence community. Though it is built on Australian soil, the complex has extraterritorial status and is considered international territory.

Alongside acting as the headquarters of the SIO, Red Mountain also fulfils some other critical functions. Namely, it houses the Oceania garrison of Calamity Mitigation and operates control equipment for Anomaly Detection sensor systems. Personnel working at Red Mountain are unusually privileged in the fact they are not subject to entry/exit restrictions, something Black Mountain employees are often envious of; this was a demand set by the Australian workforce employed by Raven from a very early point in the SIO's development.
