Raven/Logistics
It's easy to think of Logistics' duties as boring, but without them, everything stops.
The Logistics department of Raven manages and supports transportation of critical goods, resources, and personnel. It contains the sub-divisions Cargo, Catering, Requisitions, Supply Chain Management, Personnel Transport, and High-Security Transport. It is lead by Head Quartermaster Päivä Kottila. It is headquartered within Sector L at Black Mountain.
Divisions
Cargo
The Cargo division is responsible for the warehousing and transportation of all goods between Raven facilities. It maintains its own fleet of vehicles, including trucks, trains, container ships, aircraft, and spacecraft. Within facilities, specialised train networks bring resources to where they are needed.
Requisitions
The Requisitions division is responsible for handling all internal resource requests. It may handle something as simple as an office worker requesting new stationery to a Black Research laboratory placing a request to withdraw a Precursor artefact on loan for study purposes. It is also responsible for acting as proxy for all external purchasing requests in response to demand, which it closely coordinates with the Finance department.
Supply Chain Management
Supply Chain Management is a highly analytical data-based division, the purpose of which is to ensure the good functioning of the organisation’s logistics at a high level. It is designed to locate and resolve inefficiencies and predict future supply and demand to avoid unforeseen disruptions. It is largely responsible for coordinating with external organisations, such as suppliers and contractors, to guarantee availability of resources and parts.
Personnel Transport
Personnel Transport is a division responsible for the transportation of all Raven personnel between facilities. It maintains a fleet of buses, trains, passenger aircraft, and shuttle spacecraft. Military personnel are excluded, as the Armed Services and Calamity Mitigation departments manage their own troop transportation.
High-Security Transport
The High-Security Transport (HST) division is responsible for the transportation of cargo requiring a very high degree of security between Raven facilities, as well as corporate and IRTO facilities. Common payloads include galraite fuel destined for bridge laboratories, weapons of mass destruction, contained anomalies, and cryptographic devices.
HST utilises a combination of land, sea, air, and space-based transportation methods, but often exclusively uses airborne transportation. HST convoys are heavily armed and constantly tracked, and their routes and timing are classified. For especially critical payloads, a Calamity Mitigation fireteam remains on standby to respond in the event of an incident.
