Black Research/BRL-17

Black Research Laboratory 17 (BRL-17), also known as the Special Technology Unit, is a division of Black Research that performs technological research and development, usually in relation to the most bleeding edge areas of technology and applied engineering in humanity. It is led by Dr. Ryan Kessler. Notably, it was responsible for the development of the Vertex (ADG) project alongside Metatron; and later attempted to execute a plan to cover up its failures.

As well as the ADG, notable BRL-17 projects include the Archangel Program and SLUICEGATE.
