Calamity

Calamity is a term used to define a threat to humanity, mostly covering existential threats that fall under the mandate of Raven. Examples of calamities include dimensional incursions, unstable anomalies, and industrial-exophysical disasters. Specific examples include the First Incursion, the Conway Incident, the Schmitz Attacks, the Avalon Reactor Meltdown, and the Ir'vaki Conflict. The severity of a calamity is estimated by Raven utilising the Calamity Index System (CIS). A Raven specialist military division, known as Calamity Mitigation, is equipped to defend humanity from calamities.
