Black Mountain/Sector F/The Forest

Geodome 7, also known colloquially as "The Forest", is a massive climate-controlled area within Accommodation (Sector F) that simulates a deciduous forest. It contains real living trees and a living soil substrate built to replicate above-ground terrain, and includes weather simulation systems that can create many different types of weather conditions, including rain, thunder, hail, and snow. The domed ceiling is specially engineered to simulate the sky; it consists of many layered high-resolution translucent screens that are designed to simulate parallax, and are lit from the back via a light source that is specially designed to mimic the full-spectrum dynamic light and ultraviolet radiation from the sun. At night, the stars are simulated by individual point light sources. The area contains a large park, a golf course, a campsite, a small lake, a number of log cabins (subject to availability), and a biking trail.
