The Raven Facility Protection Division (RFPD) is a militarised security and quasi-police force deployed to protect secure Raven installations, such as Black Mountain. It is also deployed to protect classified areas at Interdimensional Research Treaty Organisation (IRTO) facilities and facilities of contractors holding a Dimensional Research Agreement (DRA) or General Services Agreement (GSA), as well as excavation sites containing anomalous artefacts.

The division is composed of both standard units and specialised tactical teams, including an emergency response unit (the Emergency Response Team) which is designed to deploy rapidly in the case of an attack. It is part of the Armed Services branch of Raven. The RFPD is not equipped to defend against a sustained assault by adversaries carrying exophysical weaponry, or a capable sapient anomaly, but it does possess capabilities to allow the aggressors to be held off until Calamity Mitigation flash response units arrive.

Duties

The RFPD has a myriad of duties beyond simple guarding and patrolling. Officers man security control rooms, supervise checkpoints, perform badge spot checks, escort guests, and detain and interview personnel who become suspects. They also act as medical first responders, and receive trauma care and mental health first aid training. Other duties include traffic flow management, conducting security training, and acting as a reporting point for anomalies.

Equipment

Standard RFPD officer equipment includes high-specification bullet and stab-proof body armour, a ruggedised radio; a trauma kit, a retractable baton, handcuffs, pepper spray, Taser, and conventional kinetic sidearm. Patrol officers carry assault rifles as well, and are equipped with heavier armour.

While top-tier personnel protection systems such as exosuits are not standard for all RFPD officers, the RFPD ERT (Emergency Response Team) equipped with full protective gear are able to deploy to engage a threat in under 30 seconds; ERT officers are equipped with exosuits that include composite armour and forcefield generators, and are armed with higher-energy weapons such as railguns and microburst scatterguns as standard. Threats unable to be dealt with even by the ERT, such as anomalies, are consequently handled by Calamity Mitigation.
