MINOS (Manifold Integrity Network Operational Sensors) is a network of orbital and ground-based sensor arrays operated by the Anomaly Detection division of Raven and built by Metatron. It uses a complex system of interferometers to detect manifold distortion events and specialised crystal-matrix strain gauges to detect entropic radiation. MINOS installations have been established on Earth, the Moon, and certain parts of Mars, Europa, and Pluto. It was originally built to be part of the Anomaly Defence Grid (ADG), but after the Vertex Revolution, it began to be operated as a standalone system.

History

ARC attacks

In 2183, the Anomaly Rights Coalition attacked MINOS satellites in an attempt to mask their movements prior to their sabotage of Operation Blackwell. They did this not by hitting the satellites themselves, which were difficult to access in orbit and heavily defended. Instead, they launched coordinated attacks on two ground stations located in Europe responsible for receiving the bulk of the satellites’ data, leaving just one station, which was unable to handle the entire data inflow and became overwhelmed. This design oversight was later resolved and the ground stations were significantly fortified, but it cost Raven the knowledge of ARC’s movements offworld to target Pluto.
