BioCorp Pride Controversy

From Calamity Wiki

The BioCorp pride controversy was a controversy in 2151 involving BioCorp and the transhumanist community. As part of recently-introduced Freedom of Form Day, BioCorp changed its logo to a version stylised after the Freedom of Form Flag, a symbol with its roots in the queer and furry communities. BioCorp was widely ridiculed by the community for the decision, which was seen as an insult to anthros due to BioCorp's exploitative approach towards morphological bioengineering and its generally negative reputation. The company argued for the use of the symbol and launched a PR campaign to attempt to downplay its reputation. The controversy eventually became a well-recognised meme, similar to when defence contractors historically made use of the pride flag.
