The Helios Corporation (stylised HELIOS, stock ticker HEL) is an interstellar arms and aerospace megacorporation headquartered in Birmingham, Great Britain. The corporation manufacturers numerous weapon systems, including Entropy, one of the world's best-selling line of microwave energy weapons; as well as missile and point defence systems for spacecraft. It also develops various flight control systems for the aerospace industry, including sensor and radar arrays crucial for asteroid and space debris avoidance. The company was originally established in the early 2020s by the merger of two British defence contractors: Harbrook-Steppmann Industries and the British Arms Corporation.
Once the most powerful megacorporation in Europe, Helios effectively caused the fragmentation of the United Kingdom in the 21st century when it attempted to assert control over the government, resulting in the Independence Wars and the London Revolution, as well as the detonation of an entropic flashover bomb in the Chilterns and the creation of the Southern Exclusion Zone. It remains today legally unable to maintain its own PMC arm because of the atrocities it committed, and many countries refuse to contract with it due to its historical reputation.
