Day of Mending
Appearance
The Day of Mending is a national observance in the Thames Republic that commemorates the final cleanup of manifold damage in caused by entropic flashover bombs in the Southern Exclusion Zone. The day is officially celebrated on September 5, which signifies both the day the EFBs were detonated and the conclusion of the cleanup efforts, the latter of which was timed to coincide with the former. A common activity during the day is the leaving of pasqueflowers to remember casualties of the detonation; the plants, which continued thriving in the exclusion zone despite the presence of severe manifold distortion, were seen as symbols of resilience, persistence, and strength in the face of what seemed like an unsurmountable crisis.
