Sundsvall Radar Base

Sundsvall Radar Base was a radar installation historically operated by the Swedish military. The base had a large transmission tower of a very unique technical design, and electronics that used a Nordic variant of the "magic eye" vacuum tubes to show failure (red) distinctively from success (green) with four nested rings. Later during demilitarisation of the site, much of it was welded closed. There was some kind of massive vacuum tube in the central column similar to but much larger scale than a "GE Teleria light valve".
