Conspiracy Theory
A conspiracy theory is an explanation for an event or situation that exerts the existence of a conspiracy. The sheer number of conspiracy theories in human society within Calamity dwarfs that of the real world. Even though most of them are still false, the probability of them being true is far higher, and it's much more difficult to dismiss something, because crazy enough things have happened that you just can't tell. What passes as a conspiracy theory in the real world is real news in Calamity, while their actual conspiracy theories are beyond our wildest dreams.
This property is also something often exploited by many of Calamity's organisations, including Raven. When you can easily generate theories that nobody can truly disprove or dismiss, it becomes easy to mask the real claims in a sea of misinformation, making it possible for corporations to get away with nearly whatever they want.
