Pacific Launch is a subsidiary of Pacific Industrial Science that provides mobile, on-demand, ocean-based launch infrastructure anywhere on Earth to nations and private corporations lacking their own, including the Thames Republic. It uses a number of semi-submersible platforms equipped with manoeuvring thrusters and tilt compensation systems to allow spacecraft to both take off and land at sea. The cost of the company’s launch services are far higher than its fixed, land-based competitors, but they come with the flexibility of not being locked into long-term contracts and becoming reliant on proprietary launch infrastructure.
