Total Genome Overwrite (TGO) is a morphological technology originally developed by BioCorp that is utilised to replace the genome of an individual across all living cells via use of advanced gene editing systems. TGO carries several serious complications, and a similar genome must be carefully selected in order to prevent systemic collapse. The technology is used almost exclusively for espionage purposes, where an agent intends to take on the genetic signature of a target; in this use case, the agent must usually wait an extended period of time for all dead cells (i.e. skin, hair, and nails) to renew to avoid detection, and even then the technology is not foolproof if samples are taken from certain areas of the body. Modern intelligence agencies, including the Strategic Intelligence Office, have phased it out in favour of more reliable alternatives.
