Anima 71

Anima 71 (A71) was a biotechnological cult that originated from the biopunk community. Its members installed biomods which allowed them to practice vampirism, and the cult's ideals revolved around blood, which members both worshiped and consumed (for sustenance). Some high-ranking members of the cult were also part of BioCorp leadership, enabling it to access Metamorph technology; the relationship with the company was also mutual, where it for example participated in the development of a top secret blood-based wetware consciousness storage biochip. Its willingness to experiment with low-level psionics for ritualistic purposes historically drew unwanted attention from the Aegis Institute and Raven. The uncovering of the cult was the catalyst of the end of BioCorp, alongside numerous other factors at the time of the megacorporation’s collapse.
