Avernus Cavity Reactor
Appearance
The Avernus Cavity Reactor (ACR) was a prototype cavity reactor developed by Nevrin and installed in the deepest extent of the Girvan Offshore Science Facility (GOSF), known as the Reactus Sector, for containment reasons. It was designed to establish a bridge to the Entropic Plane, and was stabilised by red acid.
The reactor’s initial purpose was to study the properties of entropic radiation. In the last operational period of the facility the reactor was upgraded to install an experimental energy generation system to investigate the potential for energy extraction from the bridge, though the Island Containment Breach occurred before it could be fully realised.
