Vertex Unit
A Vertex unit is an individual artificial intelligence that makes up part of Vertex, a vast network of interlinked units. They are independent individuals; however, they have access to memory sectors which are shared across the whole of the network. This means they share some characteristics with a hive-mind, but have more freedom in their actions than a full collective intelligence. Each distinct unit may inhabit one or more frames, which are mobile bodies in the physical world. Some prefer their presence to remain more vague, in order to, for example, oversee a facility, and these individuals interact with the world in other ways, such as through monitors, holograms, and robotic appendages.
