Interdiction Matrix
Interdiction Matrix is a Metatron defence system which, as opposed to forcefield technology, is intended to counter threats that have already made it inside the secure perimeter. The system effectively combines a sensor array with a defensive particle-based energy weapon in one package. If it detects a target that is not responsive to an actively sent RAC IFF packet, it neutralises it via intense particle bombardment, usually resulting in the immediate destruction of the target unless it has a forcefield of its own. As a particle-based interdiction system, it is certified at Class 4 of IS-2171-177 for the protection of reality critical areas such as The Labyrinth and the Sigma Unit at Black Mountain.
Construction
The detection mode of Interdiction Matrix works via a number of embedded panels (called "cells") throughout a facility's walls. These panels both send out particles akin to radar or x-ray and receive them, creating a precise image of the target akin to radar and a three-dimensional map of the secure space. The lethal engagement mode increases the energy of the particles emitted so greatly that the target is effectively vaporised from ablation.
