Adaptive Nanomachine Regenerative Armour (ANRA) is a kinetic armour developed by CORE Weapon Systems, and a direct competitor to forcefield technology such as Metatron's Dynamic Containment Array (DCA). In some cases, it is even more resilient against directed attacks. ANRA was first tested as part of the Archangel Program. ANRA is a network of highly resilient nanobots that completely wrap around the user's body, or in most cases, their exosuit. These nanobots are themselves powered and controlled from a number of local "nodes". Because of the neural connection required for linking nanobot redistribution to intent, all wearers must be synthetic or have a brain-computer interface implanted.

The "regenerative" part of ANRA allows for rapid, near-instant repair of damaged areas of armour, including recycling damaged nanobots into new working nanobots. This means that armour can go long periods in combat without need for external replenishment of the system with new nanobots. The "adaptive" part of ANRA refers to its ability to reconfigure itself during combat in order to allocate more protection to areas that are being hit with the most firepower. Nanobots can quickly redistribute from lesser-needed areas to thicken areas that are vulnerable. This, however, can be a double-edged sword, as this redistribution exposes weak points that can be hit by singular powerful attacks.
