Carb

“Carb” is slang for a universally despised, but necessary company person/woman/man who is supposed to balance the realities of a science or engineering project with demands from upper management. The name is derived from the “carb” on a bong, which is itself derived from “carburetor”, the part of a car designed to combine the fuel/air mixture.

As an example: “we said 7 months for the new launch vehicle but now the carb wants it done in 3. god i fuckin’ hate this guy”
