A brain-computer interface (BCI) is an interface between a human brain and a computer, which is commonly used for full-immersion virtual reality, mind linking, and remote operation of machinery. There are several degrees of BCI, with increasingly more invasive implantation methods; the lighter end includes completely noninvasive technology that sits on a user's head, and the heavier end includes implantable ports that feature a similar degree of neurological connectivity as the Direct Neural Interface (DNI) synthetics possess. The primary manufacturers of BCIs are Clare Biomedical, Sakura Cybernetics, and BioCorp.
