Galvatron Array

The Galvatron Array is the name given by Raven to a Dyson Sphere-like megastructure built around Rigil Kentaurus in the Alpha Centurai system by the Precursors. The device can manipulate the Substrate, and its purpose is to repair causality if it ever develops a tear, to prevent that tear propagating and eventually destroying reality. There are other Array systems located across the galaxy and the universe, each protecting a subset of substratic grids.

An unfortunate side effect of the Array's operation is that it dissipates heavy amounts of electromagnetic radiation into its surroundings. This has created a large amount of disruption to both humanity and the Ir'vaki. Before Raven knew of its purpose, it planned to destroy it; before being warned against this and told of its true purpose by Ir'vaki scientists. In the present day, the only option that remains is to fortify nearby infrastructure and plan for the pulses, which are theorised to subside in less than a century.
