Prince Island is a small island located off the west coast of North America within California state borders. It is the site of a catastrophically failed BioCorp genetic experiment and hosts the sport of Sea Bailing. The island has significant support infrastructure for bailies, converted from the surface buildings of the old scientific facility; competitors usually disembark from the bailey after arrival at the island and enter the main bailing building to receive a pre-competition safety briefing, anti-cytotoxin injections, and life preservers; while in the meantime the bailey is prepared. The vast majority of the island is off-limits to competitors for safety reasons, as many land-based entities connected to the experiment are present within it.

The Mud Pits are massive square pits on the island covered by a sliding horizontal door that are to dump creature carcasses and viscera. The doors are only opened when required for dumping, and kept shut at all other times for safety reasons. The pit actually has an open bottom, which allows the Mother Worm living beneath the island to feed on the dead creatures, recycling them to birth new creatures; but this is a secret fact known only to BioCorp.
