Deepswell-1
Deepswell-1 was a deep-sea Metatron base in the Atlantic Ocean where geoengineering research and work on the Vertex system was conducted. It was linked to a surface oil rig, officially named the Surface Security Component, via a submarine known as the Nimbus 2. The oil rig also gave personnel transfers to and from the facility a believable cover story. During the Vertex Revolution, the facility was assaulted and destroyed by X7-53 in order to free the network from human control. This was possible only due to two collaborators of the rogue unit: Julian Lennox, creator of the network, and Sirus Syn, CEO of Metatron. Both held cryptographic keys to the AI Architecture Terminal, allowing it to be unlocked after breaching the vault.
The facility was split into three sections; Orpheus Labs, Heracles Labs, and Terminal Daedalus Labs. Orpheus Labs was the topmost level of Deepswell-1, and contained the laboratories originally used to develop and test Vertex units. Heracles Labs, the middle level of the facility, contained the facility's power core. Terminal Daedalus Labs contained the Red Control Vault (RCV) that housed the AI Architecture Terminal responsible for controlling the Vertex network through directives. It was secured similarly to the Sigma Unit at Black Mountain.
