Smike Oilfields (stock ticker SMKE) is a large American petroleum corporation. It was founded in the 1950s and later acquired by Paradigm. Smike is one of the largest suppliers of fuel products, including the highly volatile hyporine, for aerospace purposes; and directly supplies the largest stations and spaceports via massive pipelines. The name is a pun on smiking, a type of group smoking activity, reflecting the tobacco culture of the early 1950’s American petroleum community. The company logo is a side on view of a pumpjack. Smike Oilfields also operates an R&D arm for Paradigm, occasionally experimenting with new methods of energy production, such as experimental fuels and nuclear reactor designs.
