Exophysics

Exophysics, or exotic physics, is the study of the exotic properties of reality which cannot be solely explained by standard relativistic or quantum models of physics. Human civilisation has been irreversibly altered by its discovery in the early 21st century, which unlocked unprecedented technologies and solved resource and energy crises, but also threatened the stability of reality and on multiple occasions almost brought an end to humanity. A scientist who studies exophysics is known as an exophysicist.

The two most significant facets of exophysics in the Calamity Multiverse are entropics - methods to arbitrarily influence entropy, simplifying or complicating systems; and substratics, interaction with the low-level, primordial network of data that underpins all properties of reality including consciousness. Dimensional physics is an applied field of exophysics that relates to the manipulation of physical space with the assistance of exophysical phenomena, in order to alter matter, teleport it from place to place, or create bridges between two different dimensions.
