CORE Foundries is a subsidiary of CORE Group that designs and manufacturers semiconductors, usually on a contract basis. It commands approximately 45% of the semiconductor market share, competing closely with Solomon Silicon Limited (SSL) and the Indian Semiconductor Manufacturing Corporation (ISMC). It is responsible for manufacturing a multitude of different types of hardware, including conventional processors, optical computing chips, and quantum processing units.
The company is the largest supplier of semiconductors to the military-industrial-scientific complex, being highly trusted by organisations such as Raven and able to manufacture classified hardware. Because of its capability to provide a highly secure supply chain and meet rigorous testing standards, it is also the number one manufacturer of the optical processors used in SI cores. Its facilities are spread across North America, with CORE’s largest fab presence in Lexington, Kentucky.
