Dark Obelisk

A Dark Obelisk is a type of Precursor artefact theorised to form part of Precursor energy generation infrastructure. Obelisks allow for the conversion of matter into entropic radiation when provided with a consumable niobium "catalyst" material. The "matrix" at the top of the obelisk absorbs matter, and it converts all ingested matter into radiation in timed pulses. Only solids of a sufficiently high atomic mass are ingested. The catalyst is fed into the obelisk from the bottom.

To form a complete Precursor entropic reactor core, four lion statues are also required, which act as energy conduits and regulators. Like lion statues, the obelisks were also discovered inside Precursor structures on Mars. They were utilised both by CERN during the Indigo Project, and by Industrial Occult Systems to build the first Tombaugh Reactor. Both were later confiscated by Raven. Because of their rarity and the hazards created by their use, the obelisks are not utilised as part of contemporary human energy systems.
