Turbine Mechanical Ventilation System

The Turbine Mechanical Ventilation System (TMVS) was a turbine-based ventilation system developed by Turbina Systems out of the need to manage the extreme heat from the Climate Crisis in countries such as India in interior spaces during the day or summer. It was primarily sold to hotels during the start of the crisis and retrofitted into existing rooms.

The system worked with two components, a room blower and an external cooling building. The large turbine in the cooling building would turn on when there was demand and pull air in from the outside; it was then passed through a heat exchanger to lower its average ambient temperature. This would then be delivered to rooms via pipes, and the room blowers, usually mounted in walls or glass windows/doors, could be turned on to enable the cooler air to be forced into the room. There was an "allow external cooling supply to room" switch that could enable/disable the blowers for each room, but these would only work when the external turbine was turned on, which would be controlled by a central server in response to building heat.
