Oblivion

Oblivion is a portable, scaled down version of Metatron's annihilation-based Phantom Hammer weapon, packing the same destructive potential in a much tighter beam intended to be used against individual targets instead of entire areas of land. The weapon first served as the primary source of firepower for Vertex units as a concealed, arm-integrated cannon, but today is used in a multitude of applications, from Black Mountain defence systems to heavy weaponry wielded by Calamity Mitigation units. It is considered an "anomaly-killer" class of weapon, and used together with exophysical weaponry by Raven.

Due to the extreme energy requirements of the underlying technology, Oblivion weapons cannot be powered by normal means used by high-end weapon systems, including fission batteries. They require more exotic power sources, such as Neutronium Electron Lattice (NEL) cells, which are often only accessible by the most well-funded organisations.
