Chilterns Bunker R-16

Chilterns Bunker R-16 was a secret Artemis Corporation facility located close to the Chilterns in the Southern Exclusion Zone. Originally a military bunker during WWII, it was used order to carry out a number of different projects including the Chilterns Radiological Experiment. Though this experiment was what the site became widely known for in the public consciousness, it in fact harboured much darker secrets that were never widely revealed except to Raven.

The bunker had five levels and contained living quarters, a nuclear power plant, and a bottom floor dedicated to an unknown machine. After the company abandoned the site, all entrances were filled with concrete, rendering the site permanently inaccessible, except for the room connected to the reservoir known as the "runoff pit", used to store nuclear waste. Over the years, the waste in this room began leaching into the Chilterns, polluting the groundwater.
