Inter-dimensional transit (IDT) is transit between two dimensions; specifically in humanity, it primarily refers to transit between Sagol and Ikechol, a capability established by the Sagol-Ikechol Treaty. IDT is typically very expensive and heavily restricted; it is used for a wide range of applications, including interdimensional diplomacy, resettlement, tourism, and business. IDT can usually be conducted at any bridge laboratory, though in practice, designated and specially secured labs are used for transit operations.

Process

IDT is treated as a regulated bridge cycle like any other; however, IDT with friendly dimensions such as Ikechol is able to navigate a dedicated, streamlined Reality Control approval process which is quicker and cheaper. An individual wishing to pass through must apply to IRTO, usually via an IDT Partner Agency, paying the appropriate fees; their details are then submitted to Reality Control, they are vetted by Raven, and then their details are passed to Ikechol authorities, who perform their own vetting process. If successfully approved, the individual is assigned a transit timeslot on a specific cycle at a specific date at a specific bridge laboratory; they will usually transit at the same time as a large number of other passengers.

Incoming passengers proceed through passport control, and are quarantined for up to a week inside the Biosafety Level 5 containment area of the receiving bridge laboratory. Their belongings are temporarily confiscated during this time, scanned separately for weapons, exophysical threats, or contraband, and returned to them when they leave quarantine.

Costs

The total cost of unsubsidised IDT from Sagol to Ikechol is on average U€1-2 million. Various subsidies and grants are available and can be applied for, such as grants from IRTO for diplomatic or scientific purposes. Depending on the country and circumstances, tourism grants can also be applied for.
