The First Incursion

The First Incursion, officially known as the Kepler Incident, was the first dimensional incursion to occur on Earth from the use of bridge generation technology. Its catastrophic consequences created global uproar against unregulated bridge technology and resulted in world-changing scientific reforms, including the passing of the Dimensional Security Accords and the establishment of Raven as regulator and dimensional security authority.

The incident occurred on 21 March 2100 at the Kepler Centre for Dimensional Physics, an experimental Gen 2 bridge laboratory in Berlin. It resulted in the release of the Grey Mold on Earth, a self-sustaining, endlessly replicating organism. Its neutralisation was only made possible at the hands of the Aegis Institute, which used Precursor technology in secret to destroy the organism. It was not until the end of the century that this fact became public knowledge.
