Substratics

Substratics (also known as computational metaphysics) is the study of the lowest known abstraction of the universe, The Substrate, which contains networks of information with the ability to form consciousness and define the physical laws of reality. The term was coined by Dr. Evan Grey, who was at the time head of the clandestine DCI-SS Unit of Küiser Laboratories.

The mere existence of substratics is classified at the Epsilon level by Raven, whose Strategic Intelligence Office (SIO) monitors public communications for any mention of the science. Any uncleared individuals merely discussing substratics are captured, interrogated, and mind-wiped.

Research

Unlike other areas of exophysics, substratics and research into it is virtually unheard of in the scientific community, with only a few organisations such as Raven, Metatron, Dreams Intelligence and the Aegis Institute having any real insight. It is often limited by the acquisition of galraite-constructed Precursor artefacts such as Geometry Cubes, which act as information sources and much-needed access points into the Substrate's networks.

Those who are aware of its existence and actively research it are also wary of the acute dangers it presents; in particular, the potential for unconstrained destructive feedback should one attempt to access or modify their own consciousness, or that of another.
