A graviton projector, better known as an "artificial gravity generator", is a usually room-sized machine that creates gravitons and uses them to project an artificial gravitational field around itself. The technology was developed in the mid-2200s by the interstellar aerospace corporation Paradigm, as a more versatile equivalent to existing centrifugal gravity generators designed for space travel, albeit at a much higher cost and energy upkeep.

It is commonly used on large deep space colonies and capital ships as well as on certain planets or moons with a very low gravitational field; due to its physical size, upkeep complexity and power requirements that usually demand a fusion reactor it is best suited for these types of installations. As the field generated is spherical, it is placed at the centre of the structure. Advanced manifold dynamics technology can sometimes be used to constrain a generated field should this need arise.
