REDterm 500
The REDterm 500 is a standalone, armoured and ruggedised computer terminal system sold by CORE Infosystems designed for processing classified information in potentially hostile areas. It is used in particular by Raven; for example, the Strategic Intelligence Office (SIO) makes use of it in field offices, and DIRE deploys it at temporary bases established within remote dimensions. The REDterm 500 terminal is a testament to the resilient engineering of Infosystems, a natural extension of its public terminal technology already developed for anomaly defence and emergency communications in civil defence applications.
Network
The REDterm 500 is fully cross-domain capable and can be connected to both RED and BLACK domains at once. RED over BLACK is also possible with the installation of certified encryption hardware such as Metatron RACryptor or Hardline modules. An optional radio module can also be added to the BLACK side of the terminal, allowing it to operate not only as a computer but also a communications hub.
Power
Like the standard CORE Infosystems public terminals, the REDterm 500 can be ordered with a fission battery as its primary power supply, but can also be connected to an external AC or DC power source, or even a combination of any for resilience. It can also be configured to draw an extremely low (<10W) amount of power during idle, which is critical for some interdimensional field applications.
Security
The system's construction is similar to, but even more resilient than an ATM. Its external chassis is constructed from hardened steel, and the internal monitor is covered by a thick layer of bulletproof glass with integrated electromagnetic shielding. It uses a steel bearing as a trackball and a fully mechanical keyboard with metal keycaps and anti-wear surfaces. It is designed to be operable in full exosuit. When it is not in use, the console slides completely into an armoured enclosure in order to provide full protection.
It is fully enveloped in a tamper detection and response system that renders the terminal a brick if it is triggered. There is also the option to fit Dynamic Containment Array (DCA) field generators to make the system near impenetrable from physical attacks. It is certified to TEMPEST Level A (SDIP-27 Zone 0) and Internal Security Standard IS-2171-177.
