Obliteration Cult

The Obliteration Cult (OBC), also known as the Church of Destruction, is a religious organisation based in Annapolis, Maryland. The organisation’s objectives centre around eliminating all life via any means, including, and most prominently, by anomalous means. Followers of the movement view this as hastening the already determined path for humanity, and see it as a means to end suffering. Historically, the cult was affiliated with thaumatological organisations such as The Power Company, but it has been alienated by even them due to the attention it attracts from Raven. It is also known to cooperate with the Church of the Underground God, due to their roughly aligned ideologies. Due to the involvement of the Cult in several calamities, Raven rates it at the Serious threat level and has obtained a Standing Kill Order on all Cult members.

Many of whom are recruited into the cult are those with personal trauma, who lost someone close to a calamity, such as a partner or child. Others are more mundane, with any trauma or PTSD seen as a benefit. Cult recruiters prey on these psychological vulnerabilities and paint their goals as a way to free them from suffering, and to prevent that suffering from ever happening to anyone else again. Those who join are asked to perform and film destructive rites like breaking all of their possessions and burning all of their money, in order to prove their full commitment to the cult’s objectives and prove they’re not an infiltrator.
