The West Coast Free States are a coalition of 9 states that seceded from the United States of America and declared independence; California, Nevada, Utah, Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico, Oregon, Idaho, and Washington. The coalition is firmly left-aligned on the political compass and based on socialist and egalitarian principles. The coalition is closely allied with Canada, but holds tense relations with the neighbouring Republic of Texas, with which it shares a border.
