Dimensional Incursion
Dimensional incursions are high-class calamities that occur when a hostile agent in a distant dimension (which may include imperialist alien races, self-replicating organisms, and cosmic horrors) attempts to penetrate Sagol, either by force or opportunistically. An incursion is a worst case scenario, potentially resulting in the extinction or subjugation of all life in the Solar System or the entire universe. Incursions may also be of only mild consequence, but as there is always the chance of a reality-ending threat, there is zero room for error.
The organisation responsible for humanity's defence against incursions is Raven, which secures scientific facilities and regulates physics experiments in order to minimise the risk of an incursion. Other technologically advanced races, such as the Ir'vaki and the Vertex Network, each have their own ways to prevent incursions. By far though humanity is the current carrier of the greatest risk to reality through incursions, due to their scientific hubris.
