A Red Token (RT) is a storage device specifically designed for storing high-classification quantum key material. It includes quantum memory encapsulated in a tamper-responding shell alongside an onboard controller. Each RT, depending on its design capacity and the qubit length of each key, can store between 1 and 128 keys. RTs are fully encapsulated and potted to prevent RF interference and ensure TEMPEST compliance; the interface between a RT and Hardline module includes both optical (for qubit transfer) and electrical (for control) connections. Protocol-wise, it emulates a Key Fill Device (KFD), acting on commands that are proxied to it from the KDL.
