IRTO Siberia/Main Facility/Main Ventilation Hub

The Main Ventilation Hub is an area in the main facility of IRTO Siberia responsible from drawing hot air up through a series of deep vertical shafts, consolidating the airflow via a series of lateral tunnels, and then exhausting the air topside. A number of massive axial fans are used to accomplish this process. The hub is located relatively close to the surface. It is also the location where many parts of the upper levels are connected via walkways, so it is often used as a shortcut by researchers, and this practice has led to the creation of an unofficial employee leisure area there known as The Lounge.
