ACCS

The AI Architecture Cryptographic Command System (ACCS) was a control system developed by Black Research to control the directives of the Vertex Network. The system utilised RAC-III signatures generated and verified in Hardline modules. These commands would be issued from ACCS terminals located within two Sigma vaults; one in the Sigma Unit, and one within the Red Control Vault inside Deepswell-1. The intention from the start was for Raven's High Council to retain sole authority over the signing keys, similar to how they would sign Council verdicts; however, Shannon Taylor delayed the implementation of the decision so she could leverage the Vertex system to extract Sigma and Reality Critical codeword information from Internal Security and the SIO.

The presence of the second terminal outside Black Mountain left it theoretically vulnerable to an attack with the ability to defeat Sigma defences, as no Calamity Mitigation personnel were stationed at the site. This factor, alongside Black Research's intentional weakening of the security architecture, contributed to the successful attack on the facility by X7-53 during the Vertex Revolution and the freeing of the network from human control.
