SLAM
The Scottish Liberation Action Movement (SLAM) was a nationalist civilian militia in Scotland with close ties to the Scottish National Party. The group was responsible for significant terror attacks in England against the incumbent British government, eventually culminating in the Independence Wars. Comparable to the IRA, it is disavowed by the current Scottish government, and was during the war opposed by the left-wing insurgent organisation Blackbird.
SLAM as an organisation was in actuality secretly funded and given weaponry by the Helios Private Military Corps, under direct orders from the Helios High Command. It was part of an effort to incite violence in Scotland to justify the deployment of the PMC to the British government and ensure Scotland's demands for independence would never be considered; however, it backfired on Helios, as SLAM quickly became too powerful for the organisation to control. This was, in fact, what led to Scotland's successful independence in the Independence Wars.
