An isosurface manipulator is a device that can constrain a manifold into a specific shape, allowing for more convenient traversal of that manifold. For example, it can reform the natural spherical shape of a wormhole or bridge manifold into a flat surface known as a portal. Isosurface manipulation technology was first pioneered by Sirus Syn as part of the area of physics known as manifold dynamics.
